Ísland - Rossiya

I picked best potential players - ages between 22 and 27 - for this NT friendly. Russia will also play somekind of reserve team.

Rossiya is good team - so our tactic must be defensively very good. Porbergsson is in disastrous form - so Bjartmansson continues between posts

That's up to Sigur. If he doesn't want extra boost for Bjartmansson's trainings then I will pick Tumi or Knutur.

We don't have important World cup qualification matches left. So if you want to rest your player => let me know.

I would like that Bjartmansson plays :)
He will not play the next 2 weeks, but with the NT games he can have 50% pace training.

... and because Knutur is playing as a MID in his club and training passing this extra boost would go like a smoke to the sky...

Very close match against Russia... winning goal looked offside, but I need to see that again.

We were dominating game from the start, but it didn't last very long. Opponent took ball control more and more. They dominated the second half and our substitutes didn't bring enough fresh feets into our game.

I think best player was Bjartmannsson. Also Randversson and Friobjörnsson played nice game.

And also under 24 of cource... and this doesn't mean that you can't update your older players also... ;=)

NT Friendly U25: Ísland - Malaysia

After age update we play with 25 years old and younger players against Malaysia (and they have also U25 team).

With these age groups (22-25) we have still problems with defenders. Ísland have only 4-5 good enough defs for national level.

Our best areas are goalkeeping and attacking. In midfield we have potential players in lineup - 3 of those are Skytturnar's players. Strikers situation is very interesting, because young talents Baldursson and Eysteinnsson are challenging allready Randversson-Svanlaugsson co.

I am planning to use all three subs.

Greg has wroted about improvements that will be now tested. Nice improvements!

With 4 March we are testing new engine. Major modifications are slides for a ball and launch and run passes to oneself.

Launch and run

When player see there is space to run he may launch a ball to run more quickly than with dribbling ball close to leg. How precisely he lauches depends on techique and experience.

Slides

Player may now slide for ball moving out of his reach. His reach with sliding depends on defending skill, and effect of slide on defending and experience.

Junior age

With new engine jouniors older than 19 yo won't be allowed to play junior league. Of course trainable juniors 20yo will still happen. We coudn't make limit as if junior is still trainables (so not ready to sign contract), to play junior matches, because many users may won't see that junior is ready to sign contract and number of walkovers would increase.

Other modifications

It was rather parameters tunning, related with passing, running, receiving ball and other.

It is still test version of engine, with season start some features might be changes. We also plan to fix few reported bugs (penalties, substitutions, etc.) but it can coded in the middle of season as it is not modification that may influence on many matches.

Result: Ísland - Malaysia 1:2

Close match, but again we lost in last minutes of the game.

It was positive that we won shots and got decent marks with this U25 team.

Our strikers didn't had their best day - Baldursson was our best striker scoring 1-1 equalizer. Midfield worked decently, but last twenty minutes ball was bouncing too much almost after every pass.

Next we meet Srbija with U26 team. Please update your players.

Difficult opponent - maybe this seasons friendly schedule has been too tough. If I will be elected - then those next season opponents will be little bit easier.
