Thanks for your votes! This week we start new campaign. Below you can see our World cup group and predictions:


Group C

1. Polska (1)
2. Bulgaria (28)

Poland is the number one in our Worl cup qualifications group C. They are number one in ranking list and biggest sokker country.

Bulgaria (rank 28) is also very tough country. We met Bulgaria in friendly match (april 2011) when we lost 3-2. Bulgaria's average marks are close to 80.

Uruguay's ranking is 40 and it's our first opponent in qualifications. Their marks are somewhere between 75-78.

Kypros has low ranking, but their marks are easily over 60 (between 61-65 I scouted). Not an easy opponent, but 6 points are needed against them. Our average marks has been somewhere between 66-69.

Jamaica is a bigger sokker country than Ísland (60 users). But still their avg marks (over 50) are much lower than Icelands! Here you can see how good trainers you are in Iceland! :) Keep up the good work.

Ísland predictions:

Poland is a quite "impossible mission", but Iceland can steal points from Bulgaria and Uruguay. For that Iceland needs superior performance. First game with three points would be wonderful start.

Against Kypros we need 6 points - Jamaica should be "easy". Interesting season is coming.

I have named somekind of world cup team for coming WCQ matches. This doesn't mean that other players can't overtake their place if they have better skills.

Stars:

These (three stars) guys are most important part of our team. They are in lineup if they are healthy and in good form.

** Important first team player

Two stars players will play in qualifying matches. Who and how many games depends on what kind of tactics will be used.

Our number one goalie. Knútur's troble is low form. I think it can be result of his position in club games.

** Thomas Bjartmannsson 26, Sigur

Thomas challenges Knútur if his form is better. We have two world class goalies.

* Tumi Garðarsson 25, Independiente

Tumi is good reserve if our goalies get injured etc. Unfortunately he was born in a wrong year and now lives under shadows of better goalies.

Needs better form, but is currently our second best striker.

Ísland - Uruguay

World cup qualification group C first match against Uruguay is difficult task for us. All odds and predictions are against us. Uruguay is trying to crush and beat us badly. :O

First match is very important because it shows how we can challenge these big sokker countries. Stealing points would be great, but our defence must work perfectly.

Huge concern is that our midfield haven't been able to steel balls from technical midfielders.

Plus side is that Uruguay's manager is new and this is his first match with his NT.

Result: Ísland - Uruguay 0 - 5 (0 - 2)

Better team won. We had couple breaktroughs (Martinsson, Haraldsson, Randversson), but shots quality was poor (Haraldsson tried triple past goalie). My plan was that we try breaktrough passes...

This time we couldn't challenge Uruguay - they played strong game.

Our midfielders yellow card situation is bad - Numason is suspensed from next match and Edvinsson-Haraldsson has two yellow cards. Luckily our next opponent is Jamaica.

Jamaica - Ísland

Against Jamaica we use allmost same starting eleven than against Uruguay.

Valdimarsson replaces suspended Númason. Valdi takes quite defensive role.

Yngvarsson has slight injury and he had yesterday 2 days left. He might be able to play tomorrow.

Nothing else is not enough - we need 3 points with big goal margin! 8=)

Jamaica - Ísland 1-9 (0-6)

Clear win as I expected. Jamaica didn't have any chances against us. We should score more goals, but Jamaica's goalie was quite good.

Our midfield was strong - especially Edvinsson-Traustason. Haraldsson played right side of the pitch and that's why his effort was only "good". Also Valdimarsson played nicely in his def mid role.

In league table we are now second after two rounds.

Ísland - Indonesia

Saturday we play U25 friendly against Indonesia. Indonesia has 454 users and that's why their national team has become stronger and better all the time. Their ranking is little lower than ours.

Tumi is between posts. There are few new players for me => Sigurðsson and Pálmason will play their first games in NT (seniors)... couple new players are on the bench when match starts.

Hmm, I think we had better tactic and better chances to score, but we lost: Ísland - Indonesia 0-1.

Friðbjörnsson's early red card was bad for us and Eysteinsson's poor form took lot from our scoring.
